Nigerian footballer, Victor Osimhen, has made history in the Italian Serie A league. This goal took his total number of goals in the league to 47, making him the highest-scoring African player in the league's history.
Osimhen's winning goal in the match against Fiorentina was his 23rd league goal this season and his 47th in the league since he joined Italy in 2020. This achievement also surpasses George Weah's record as the highest-scoring African player in Serie A.
In an interview with BT Sports after the match, the 24-year-old expressed his delight at breaking Weah's record. He described it as a great honor to surpass the legendary African player's achievement. Napoli fans also celebrated the win and the record-breaking achievement by Osimhen.
